1776 Announces Launch of Startup Accelerator

Applications now open for first cohort focused on startups in the regulated marketplace

Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, Pa. (July 16, 2018)—Today, 1776 announced the launch of a Startup Accelerator that will target early seed stage companies looking to take their idea beyond concept to investor ready. The goal of this accelerator is to provide founders with the curated knowledge and tools they need to position their companies for fundraising success.

The accelerator will allow companies to gain access to a dynamic curriculum, network relationships, capital partners, curated events, and workspace on campuses. Upon completion of the cohort program, participating companies will also be provided workspace at any of its locations for an additional six (6) months and ongoing incubation support from the 1776 leadership team.

“We are excited to bring a new level of programming to our members and the Greater Washington ecosystem”, said Anthony Maher, Chief Growth Officer and Head of Incubation. “As all companies struggle in the early stages, we wanted to launch an accelerator that provides them with the right set of tools, access to the curated knowledge that we have built over the years, and deep personal engagement to help those founders succeed.”

Applications are now open for the first cohort that will start September 18, 2018.  https://www.1776.vc/accelerator/  This will be a 3-month intensive program focused on tech enabled companies operating in the regulated market space - such as health care, education, energy, transportation, finance, cyber security.  Each week, the 1776 leadership team and selected Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIRs), will work directly with the cohort to ensure successful progression and positioning. 1776 will also pair each of the companies with the best strategic mentor from its global network for the entire three month program.

The fall cohort will be physically located at its Washington, D.C. campus located at 1133 15th Street, NW, 12th Floor.
