1313 Innovation partners with Benjamin's Desk to expand coworking in Wilmington, Delaware
Pact Aims to Grow Connections Between Innovators in Wilmington and Philadelphia, While Strengthening Collaboration Throughout the Region.
WILMINGTON, DE & PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 16, 2016—Technology incubator 1313 Innovation has named Benjamin’s Desk its operating partner for the expanded coworking space at its Wilmington, Delaware facility.
“This partnership with Benjamin’s Desk, we believe, will be not just the next generation of what we’re doing, but will allow both sides to expand in a way that will be transformative for the community and for the region,” said 1313 Innovation Founder Paul McConnell in a video screened for attendees of today’s Tech2Gether technology conference at World Cafe Live at The Queen.
“We’re trying to become much more than a coworking space,” said Benjamin’s Desk Co-Founder and Co-CEO Anthony Maher. “We’re growing into an incubation engine where entrepreneurs can thrive with support from experienced mentors and with access to real resources.”
“We’re on the cusp of greatness right now in the Greater Philadelphia region,” said Benjamin’s Desk Co-Founder and Co-CEO Jennifer Maher. “When we can bridge the gap between Wilmington and Philadelphia, we’re going to advance the interests of the entire region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
1313 Innovation already houses private office suites, coworking desks, meeting rooms, and fabrication facilities at Hercules Plaza in Wilmington. Fully renovated in 2013, this 500,000-square-foot office tower is a premier Class A multi-tenant facility. Home to many prominent regional and international businesses, Hercules Plaza features an expanded food court and access to the Brandywine River.
The facility will now be known as 1313 Innovation Powered by Benjamin’s Desk. In addition to facilitating member services, Benjamin’s Desk will create and host workshops, programs and professional development resources for this community. Existing 1313 Innovation team members will remain on site, and will collaborate with the broader Benjamin’s Desk network on regional programming and development initiatives.
Described as “Philadelphia’s Premier Coworking Network,” Benjamin’s Desk aims to provide mobile professionals, consultants, entrepreneurs and startups across a range of industries with more than just office space. Members are given access to capital resources, economic partners, high-profile networking events, and more—all with the explicit goal of helping them grow.
Benjamin’s Desk offers four core membership opportunities for entrepreneurs and enterprise partners:
- The Network—A membership program that includes occasional use of common space and access to special events, professional development courses, and business incubation services.
- Part-Time—Flexible access to shared desks and conference rooms for professionals requiring presence in targeted geographic areas.
- Full-Time—Around-the-clock access to Benjamin’s Desk facilities, including the option for dedicated desks and virtual office solutions.
- Private Offices—Short term, flexible leases for early-stage startup companies and other teams.
1313 Innovation coworking members will enjoy reciprocal access to facilities and services at other Benjamin’s Desk locations throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, including mentorship and benefits from corporate sponsors that include Comcast Business, Pepper Hamilton, GMS Surgent, TriNet, Professional Planning Associates, and 2820 Press.
“Successful companies grow when exposed to a diversity of talent, ideas, and technology,” Anthony Maher said. “We’re thrilled to help even more entrepreneurs in our region invent their future with access to our entire network of innovators.”
Maher said that further updates, including event announcements and pre-opening photographs, will be published to the network’s official website, at BenjaminsDesk.com.
